- Resend: To send you the welcome email and updates.
- Vercel: To host this website.
- Google Gemini AI: To analyze and identify skateboard tricks from photos and videos (see section 4 for details).
4. Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing
BoardShoot uses Google Gemini AI to provide intelligent trick identification from images and videos you capture. Here's how we handle your data:
What Data Is Sent
- Images and videos: Photos or video frames you capture within the app for trick analysis.
- No personal information: We do not send your name, email, location, or other personal identifiers to the AI service.
How Images Are Processed
- Images are sent securely to Google's Gemini AI API over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- The AI analyzes the visual content to identify skateboard tricks, body position, and technique.
- The analysis results (trick name, description, tips) are returned to your device.
- Images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers.
Data Retention
- Google Gemini: According to Google's terms, data sent to Gemini AI may be retained temporarily for service operation but is not used to train their models when using the API.
- BoardShoot: We do not store your images on our servers. All media remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.
- Local storage: Analyzed tricks and associated metadata are stored locally on your device only.
Security and Safeguards
- Encryption: All data transmission uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
- Rate limiting: API requests are rate-limited to prevent abuse and protect user privacy.
- Scan limits: Users have a reasonable limit on the number of trick analyses per day to ensure fair usage.
- No unauthorized access: Only the specific image you choose to analyze is sent to the AI service.
- Minimal data principle: We only send the minimum necessary data (the image) without additional metadata.
